The guitar with orange machine stitching for detail. |

I think my favorite part was the WOOF on the little bum! |

I didn't wash them after snipping so hopefully the ragging process worked! :-) |
I was excited to finally make cute baby gifts with some of the many wonderful tutorials I've been finding! I used
this great pattern and tutorial from homemade by jill to make the burp cloths and have seen many simple onsies on a variety of blogs to get the idea for the dog and guitar applique. Now I can't even remember for sure where I got the guitar image. I'm pretty sure I just did a google search and used a basic outline. I love how the backstitching at the top worked for the "tuning knobs!" The little hat was made from a t-shirt sleeve which was from another easy tutorial by homemade by jill found
here. I'm sure I'll be making many more of these cute baby gift ensembles! I'm linking this post up at the Tea Rose Home linky party.
Sachiko has a fabulous blog with great tutorials as well! Check out all of
her ideas here!
SO CUTE!!! I just love the dog theme! My favorite is the guitar - I have had major issues when trying to machine sew on to onesies :( I dream about doing a lot of ideas from 'homemade by jill'. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! I love the dog theme, and the color combination is just perfect. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried that pattern without that football piece. I don't think it would work because there wouldn't be enough fabric to fit around the diaper. I have tried other patterns that don't have the football piece, but they have a center back seam and a crotch area that gives room for the bum/diaper.
I take back what I said before. I looked closer at some of my son's clothing and found some without a football piece and without a center back seam. I'm not quite sure how this works because it doesn't make sense to me. You can try it without the football piece to see it if works! I think if you skipped the football piece on the t-shirt shortall pattern it would make the shortall shorter so it might not fit a long baby. Sorry I can't be of more help!
